At least 90% of the effective missions work being done today is by indigenous missionaries. They know the language and the customs of their people. They don’t need to pay for equipment, language study, plane tickets, household equipment, Social Security, income taxes, medical insurance, freight forwarding, private schools for children, servants, automobiles, furlough vacations, or deputation expense.
The GFI has commissioned 175 native missionaries, working in nine states of India. They have been used of God to raise up to 158 pioneer churches in previously unreached villages in India–13 in Orissa State alone.
GFI has pioneered two Reach Out Bible Institutes, one in Orissa and another “All India” national training center in southern India. Hundreds of missionary candidates are applying for training and service. Both schools are boot camp-style facilities designed to motivate and train native missionaries from the Scriptures.
